Pilot Car Driver
Job Description
Seeking a Pilot Car Driver for our over the road trucking company. This person must be willing to be over the road and cover the lower 48 states. Our drivers stay out for long periods of time but we are flexible as to when you may need time off. A Pilot Car Driver is responsible for escorting the trucks to and from pickup and delivery locations. A Pilot Car Driver is also responsible for ensuring the safety of the traveling public, prevention of damage to the highway system and load being transported, and the reduction of any undue delay to the normal flow of traffic.
Job Duties Include:
Follow designated route in and out from sites as determined by management, the truck drivers and oversize overweight permits
Directs movement of traffic to, from and through site, using amber lights and CB callouts.
Radios other flagger or drivers at opposite end of site, giving clearance for reverse flow of traffic when appropriate.
Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; communicates using CB radio as needed; duties may vary according to job assignment.
Maintain proper speed at all times as determined by management
Reports safety hazards and traffic problems to superior immediately.
Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
Provide superior customer service.
Prepares reports and maintains records.
Participate in all training

All applicants must be:
Have a minimum of 3 years driving experience
Clean driving record-No DUI's
Ability to pass a 10 panel drug screen
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Ability to speak, read and write the English language
Job Type: Full-Time
Per diem is paid daily and accommodations are provided.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
